Will it really fit?

Four common fit-out checks drawn to scale: kitchen work triangle, wardrobe door swing, dining table clearance and a 1,500 mm wheelchair turn. Change a dimension and the drawing turns red when it fails.

Values are common ergonomic guidelines: the kitchen work triangle (three legs of 1,200 to 2,700 mm, total 3,600 to 6,600 mm) and a 1,500 mm wheelchair turning circle as used in India’s Harmonised Guidelines for a barrier-free environment. The National Building Code (NBC 2016) and local bylaws govern your project. Check them before finalising.

Questions

Are these rules from the NBC?

The values are common ergonomic guidelines and the 1,500 mm turning circle from India’s barrier-free guidelines. NBC 2016 and local bylaws govern a real project, so always confirm there.

What is the kitchen work triangle?

The triangle between sink, hob and fridge. Each leg of 1,200 to 2,700 mm and a total of 3,600 to 6,600 mm is a widely used comfort range.

Is this a substitute for a drawing?

No. It is a quick early check before you detail the layout.
